Mary Massoud has been linked to World Day of Prayer since her adolescence, when her Aunt was a key organizer and enlisted Mary in the preparations. Mary has maintained a key role in the annual preparations, offering keen interest without fail every year since.
Out of her abiding faith and unwavering fidelity to prayer, Mary has been part of a strong team that has sustained World Day of Prayer in Egypt through many crises. Her efforts are drawn from the spiritual significance she finds in the worship service every year. Mary also contributed to the coordination of World Day of Prayer on an international level, serving on the WDPIC Executive Committee from 1986 to 1990. If one considers how the Nile River floods and nourishes the delta and feeds the people every year, then World Day of Prayer in Egypt is similarly brought to life on the first Friday of March every year by the steady, careful attention to the annual preparation and the personal commitment that Mary Massoud gives to the WDP Committee of Egypt.
