We honor Mrs. Nver Trashian Haidostian who passed away peacefully in the residence of her son at Haigazian University in Beirut on July 28, 2016 surrounded by family members.
When she was a youth, the family home had been one of prayer meetings, hymn-singing and Christian fellowship among neighbors in Aleppo, Syria. Having married a pastor and educator, her teaching career and dedicated service to the church in Lebanon, and often in Syria, never stopped till her death at age 86. She taught at regular schools, and for long years led Sunday School programs, played the organ at church, visited the needy, translated daily devotional booklets into Armenian, and for more than 30 years she voluntarily and happily translated the texts of the World Day of Prayer worship services into the Armenian language. Her text was used in Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Greece, and Australia. At least twice, she brought the message of the WDP worship service for the joint Armenian congregations in Lebanon. Even in the last days of her life, she kept the Bible concordance, a number of dictionaries, and various types of stationary handy so that she may write notes of Christian encouragement to all people near and far who she considered as part of her life.
